Does everyone understand the meaning of the word entrepreneur?
If you were to look up the word entrepreneur in an online dictionary what would you find? I have found the meaning of “a person who organizes and operates a business or businesses, taking on greater than normal financial risks in order to do so”. In another one, I found “a person who starts a business and is willing to risk loss in order to make money” or “one who organizes, manages, and assumes the risks of a business or enterprise.”
So what are the two words that stand out in these two definitions? Yep, business and risks.
What is my meaning of entrepreneurship?
My sense of entrepreneurship involves the action that an entrepreneur takes to make an ultimate change in the world. How they would like to make an ultimate change in the world can be by,
- Willing to take a risk to benefit their life and future
- Solving those problems that people struggle with each and every day
- To create something so advanced to accelerate our societies
- Creation of new jobs
- Create new lives for other people by encouraging them to follow their dreams and passions
- Take their lives in their own hands
- To be able to control their schedules
- Find it hard to work for other people
- Find it hard to grow while working for someone else
- Not able to express their knowledge when someone controls their days
Like it states above entrepreneurs take on risks by starting a new business, taking that first step to go out on their own with a dream of making a change in their life, as well as others.
Entrepreneurs are risk takers, therefore, when they have a DEEP passion for something in their life that they want to change, they will be the one taking that BIG jump to get themselves there.
They are there to change the world by solving problems that many of us struggle with each, and every day. They will struggle by bringing people together in a way, that no one has ever tried or will ever try. They strive to build something that is innovated to bring societies together, and every entrepreneur shares one thing in common-TAKING ACTION. Ideas don’t stay in the mind of an entrepreneur for long, they bring an action to that idea and run with it.
In the above definitions, what they do not share is that entrepreneurship is where people take their dream career into their hands, creating a direction, and a life, they wish to have on their own terms. This career and life will not have bosses, or schedules, holding them back from what they have set out to accomplish. Wanting to make the world a better place, while helping others build a better life too.
If you are a risk taker, or you want to become a risk taker to create a solution for people problems, then create a product that will solve these problems. Create the product, market it, while winning over your continual audience. Just think about it for a minute, how would you feel to realize one day that you took your dream, making it a reality? Helping other people make their dreams come true, and earn a living, by executing your dream and taking action.
Entrepreneurs see possibilities and solutions where the average person only sees them as nuisances and difficulties. Then there are people who don’t believe in themselves, denies there are problems or refuses to help their fellow man.
Entrepreneurs start out to be the only leader and CEO of their business until they come to the point where their business has grown and will have no problem hiring a well-qualified manager. Your business always starts out from an idea, or a dream, but eventually builds itself up earning a profit.
One of my personal favorites is Jeff Walker, he started out from sending newsletters about the stock market, now he owns a multi-million dollar business helping entrepreneur’s build their business. I am currently taking his Product Launch Formula course that he has taught many other entrepreneurs.
One entrepreneur that has already taken his course and went on to build her cake empire business, Kara Andretti, of Kara’s Coutures Cakes.
Kara has a passion for designing her unbelievable cakes, so went into business for herself and makes a living while she stays at home, and recently bought their first home. All because she had a dream, a passion, accepting the risk, taking action.
SO WHAT EXACTLY IS THE ATTRACTIVENESS OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP?
According to Tekeye. UK as of January 2018, there were 1,805,260,101 websites in the world, so you tell me…..
There is an abundance of entrepreneurial appeal in our present day online and will continue to grow yearly. Each and every entrepreneur has their own story as to their “WHY”, what brought them into their business of being their own BOSS. Whether these people needed more time for their life, or to be able to make the world a better place by taking control of their life on their terms.
Having read many homepages and about me pages, I have put their “Why’s” together here:
- They do not want to be in the workforce (out of the home) any longer.
Entrepreneurs tend not to thrive in the corporate world, it is a limitation of their individual growth. Many do not delight in the lack of control or their role in an office setting. Getting down to it, they do not like to be told what to do, especially if they already know what their job entails. Have you ever been in a situation at a workplace where there is an employee that tries to control all the job assignments of other employees too? Yep, that person is more like an entrepreneur and should be thriving in her or his own business. They want a better understanding of how all things take place, fitting together.
- Some, may not work well with others.
They find it hard to take orders, completing a task the “way it’s always been done”, has better ideas on how to do things, or overstep their boundaries and their job title. Many feel they can do a better a job, proving this by starting their own marketing strategies.
Entrepreneurs create jobs and risk of not knowing if their idea will be a hit or not, but that is the risk they take. If one idea does not pan out, they try another approach trying out ideas that the average person would not even consider. Being aware of the financial risk of starting your first business upfront, not knowing what to expect is the risk they will accept.
- As mentioned above they can’t work under a BOSS
Feeling suffocated, have restrictions placed upon them, does not sit well with entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs feel they are more productive and efficient when tackling certain tasks by themselves. Have the freedom to be creative on their own time and their own way without having to answer to a BOSS.
- Flexible working hours
This is popular among entrepreneurs. Many women have families that they want to be there for. Young children to be able to raise at home, school-age children that they want to be home for. There may some entrepreneurs that have a disability that prevents them from leaving to a job daily, or a spouse they need to be home for. I have met college students that enjoy entrepreneurship while taking college courses, not having enough time in their day to travel to a job site.
- Be a world changer
Make the world a better place by creating products and services that will benefit others. Creating jobs to people that other business may not employ. Teach others how to be a better person, while fulfilling their dreams and passions. Building resources so they can offer funds to a charitable cause.
